BENIGN WHITE LESIONS

BENIGN WHITE LESIONS OF THE ORAL CAVITY

There are a hundred benign diseases of the oral cavity that are manifest in white plaque in the mouth.

These white lesions, when discovered by the persons themselves or by their family doctor or dentist, should be investigated by a doctor with experience in Oral Medicine, as they must be correctly diagnosed and treated. Some of these injuries must be monitored, with no indication for treatment, only surveillance. Others may be infections that require immediate treatment.

Most importantly, it is crucial that you trust your Oral Medicine Specialist to exclude potentially malignant diseases and to monitor your case appropriately.

At the Instituto Português da Face, we have Contact Endoscopy - a new medical technology, non-invasive for diagnosing lesions of the oral mucosa, in which we are able to access the cells of your mouth through a micro-chamber, without any pain or discomfort. Do not hesitate to contact us to find out how we can help you.
