Cold sores are manifest itself in 2 ways:

  • Primary Herpetic Gingivostomatitis - Children
  • Reactivation of Cold Sores - Youngsters and Adults


Primary Herpetic Gingivostomatitis

  • From 6 months to 5 years of age
  • Small 2 mm oral blisters/vesicles that turn into thrush
  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Malaise
  • Nausea and Vomiting
  • Oral lesions last up to 10 days
  • The other symptoms last up to 4 days


Reactivation of Cold Sores

  • Youngsters and Adults
  • Burning and itchy lip and perioral vesicles
