With over 11 years of clinical experience, his medical career had been directed towards specialization in the area of orofacial pain and temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
A pivotal event in his career as a doctor occurred with the defence of his doctoral thesis in Maxillofacial Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon in 2018, which coincided with his entry into the European Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons, becoming the first Portuguese doctor to join this prestigious society. He is currently an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon.
He has contributed to the development of minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of temporomandibular joint dysfunction. In the scientific area, he has been distinguished with various research awards and participates in international conferences enabling a vision of progress and development in the area ofregenerative medicine and intelligent biomaterials. One of his outstanding distinctions out was the prestigious young researcher award in the field of pain in given by the Grunenthal Foundation in 2015.
Following 6 years of work in leading health organizations in Portugal, in 2016 he decided to found, in partnership with his colleague David Sanz, a solid project in the area of Facial Surgery aimed at offering a series of innovative services in his area of specialization.
