PROF. DR. DAVID ÂNGELO
CLINICAL DIRECTOR / CO-FOUNDER / SURGEON
With over 9 years of clinical experience, he has directed his medical career towards specializing in orofacial pain and temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
The pinnacle of his career as a physician came with the defense of his doctoral thesis in Maxillofacial Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon in 2018, which coincided with his joining the European Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons, becoming the first Portuguese physician to be part of this prestigious society. He is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon.
He has contributed to the development of minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of temporomandibular joint dysfunction. In the scientific field, he has received several research awards and international conferences that have allowed him to gain insights into progress and development in the area of regenerative medicine and intelligent biomaterials. One of the awards he highlights is the prestigious young investigator award in the field of pain in 2015 from the Grunenthal Foundation.
After 6 years of work in several leading health organizations in Portugal, in 2016 he decided to co-found, with his colleague David Sanz, a solid project in the field of Facial Surgery with the aim of offering a range of innovative services in his area of expertise.
