COATED TONGUE AND FISSURED TONGUE

COATED TONGUE AND FISSURED TONGUE

Coated Tongue and Fissured Tongue are variants of the normal tongue, in which the Coated Tongue shows a rougher appearance and sometimes it even seems to have small “hairs” or, in the case of the Fissured Tongue, has various fissures of different sizes on the back of the tongue.

These are not considered diseases. However, people with this type of tongue may have a higher incidence of some oral pathologies and should take extra care, do you know which ones?

Come to us for an explanation of this care at the at Instituto Português da Face!
