NODULES ON THE NECK

DID YOU NOTICE A LUMP OR NODULES ON YOUR NECK?

This can be from a simple and temporary pathology, such as reactive inflammation, or it can be the first sign of a more serious disease.

Factors such as age, male or female sex, time of onset, behaviour since onset, other local symptoms such as pain and redness, location of the lump in the neck, habits such as smoking and medical observation findings are fundamental to guide clinical investigation and avoid wasting time once diagnosed.

Many of these nodules are related to diseases of the mouth, nose, throat and vocal cords.

Thus, a comprehensive approach to cervical nodules should be conducted by a professional experienced in direct clinical examination and endoscopic examination of the interior of these anatomical cavities, usually an Otorhinolaryngologist.

At the Instituto Português da Face, in addition to having an experienced team of Otorhinolaryngologists, Maxillofacial Surgeons and Stomatologists, we use some of the most internationally innovative exams. This achieves a rapid diagnosis and the patient is directed to the most appropriate treatment.
